In this special Virtual Happy Hour, join acclaimed photographer and author Amy Gulick on a journey to one of the rarest ecosystems on Earth – the 17 million acre Tongass rain forest of Alaska.
Humpback whales, orcas, and sea lions cruise the forested shorelines. Wild salmon swim upstream into the forest, feeding some of the world’s highest densities of grizzlies, black bears, and bald eagles. Native cultures and local communities benefit from the gifts of the forest and sea.
The Tongass is public land entrusted to all Americans, and the decisions we make today will determine if it will continue to be a place where there are salmon in the trees.
Join us for this transporting presentation, then take action to protect this national treasure! The current administration is moving forward with plans to open Alaska's Tongass National Forest to clearcut logging, road building and other development. Find out more and take action here.
