Join Washington Wild and our partners in celebrating the passage of legislation that bans the harmful practice of motorized suction dredge mining. Governor Inslee signed ES HB 1261 into law on March 18, protecting designated critical salmon habitat in Washington State.
At our Virtual Happy Hour on May 12, learn about the newest protections for salmon in our state, celebrate a hard fought conservation victory, and find out what you can do to make sure this new law is implemented correctly. We will be joined by Crystal Elliot Perez, Washington Habitat Director for Trout Unlimited, to celebrate this historic win.
Washington Wild helped coordinate a statewide coalition of more than 160 conservation, recreation, and wildlife organizations, local businesses and elected officials. Tribal nations from across Washington State, including the Quinault Indian Nation, Snoqualmie Tribe, Yakama Nation, Sauk-Suiattle Tribe, and Tulalip Tribes have also supported the bill.
